Transforming spaces, using the abundance of the Void

Feng Shui goes far beyond Architecture and Interior design. It is an energetic layer, full of Chi (life energy), containing all sorts of information. Aspects, present from the moment we build a house/property. This was known not only by the Chinese. Both, in Asia and in Europe Feng Shui and Geomancy was practiced. Applied not only to find water, minerals, or copper veins, but also to choose a beneficial site to build our settlements. Located close to fresh water, protected from cold winds, and of course, with an unobstructed view over the landscape.

As an architect I give form to our buildings, shapes landscapes, rooms. Draw, design, plan, and bring into life your ideas with the help of builders, craftsmen, gardeners. These spaces surrounded by walls, we then call “the kitchen”, “the living room” or “the office”. They are full of information, energy, possibilities and potential.

Feng Shui - Architecture´s hidden layer

Who doesn’t know that feeling/sensation? When you come to a place and feel something is off, although you can’t see it or pin it down/put the finger on it. It might be a newly renovated, modern property, nicely furnished, but…. That’s because we resonate with the built environment in which we live and work. It agrees with us or does not. We perceive subtle information from our environment and, in turn we contribute to a building’s memory (its history) through the way we and those that surround us act in it.

With time, I begun to understand that to a house/building is more than the lines I draw on paper. It is alive (filled with life, in fact), has a soul, a distinct atmosphere and a “genius loci”, and a profound effect on us.

My vocation is to help transform your living or working space into a well-balanced and energizing place. I combine Feng Shui with my expertise to create a whole, harmonious, and healthy environment where you can evolve safely, ideal to live and work in.

Who I am

My professional background is architecture and I bring along wide interdisciplinary experience that I have used to run projects that vary in both size and scope. What I enjoy the most, is working “across the borders”, in that space in between, where Architecture, Feng Shui, Interior Design and people meet.

What I do

Understanding Feng Shui as a universal, ancestral language, I use it in my design work as an access tool, a technique. Like a doctor, who feels its client’s pulse, I take the houses pulse to determine the spots where intervention is needed and to choose the “remedy”. This allows recognizing the underlying energetic pattern.  Based upon that, I then elaborate a proposal determining and selecting items/objects representing a certain energy. Which I use to access the energy of the building/property at a deeper level – to activate distinct spots or dissolving blockages.

How do I apply it

I always aim to create a unique concept for each individual project, commercial or private, with attention to every little detail. Each project is tailored according to the needs of the space/object and respects the design preferences of the client. I love working with natural, high-quality materials, pieces which have been crafted with nice details and good craftsmanship. Good Feng Shui is clearly felt but should stay discreet in the background embedded in the overall design.

Applying Feng Shui in my design work is about having the right objects at the right place, installed at the right time. Ideally in your garden, or other outdoor space belonging to the property, because there it has/exercises a bigger influence on the energetic layers.

What

Choosing the right object for the purpose we want to address. This can range from garden design, over rocks installations or water features, pathways, to the house colour. Inside it can be about the assignment who uses which room, or regarding its usage, furniture, a colour scheme for a specific area and advise on art objects.

Where

Placing the selected object at a certain location, combined with a specific direction is how the energy can be transformed. For major impact/influence we use the outdoor space available over an indoor location. As well as downsized to good bed – or desk locations and directions.

When

It’s equally important to select the right timing, to implement the proposed solutions. For example – when to start the groundbreaking works, moving in, installing a pond, opening a business or a new shop. These calculations are personalized and adjusted/connected to your property or business.
